The Simpsons At Universal Studios

The Simpsons ride features 29 characters from the long-running television show - all voiced by the original actors. The long awaited 40-million dollar Simpson ride opened late May at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

The six-minute motion simulator ride follows the Simpsons clan as they are plucked from the crowd at the Krustiest Place on Earth to be the first family to tackle the “upsy-downsy, spins-aroundsy, teen-operated ride thrilltacular!”

The Simpsons Come To Universal!

The Simpsons Ride involves a simulator ride similar in comparison to Back to the Future: The Ride (the same ride in which The Simpsons Ride replaced). It uses 80 foot IMAX screens to give the rider a virtual-reality trip through a cartoon theme park called Krustyland, built by Springfield's leading TV personality, Krusty the Clown.

In the new attraction, guests will take a wild tour of Krustyland with the Simpsons Family while on the Tooth Chipper roller coaster in order to save Bart Simpson from Sideshow Bob. Quite naturally, things go awry and the ride careens out of control around the low-budget theme park created by the cartoon show’s cantankerous clown.

The theme park guests are taken through in the ride is called Krustyland, run by Krusty the Clown. The park has various attractions and shows commisioned by Krusty, which are made to be spoofs on real amusement park rides.

Among them are Dr. Frightmare's Laboratory, Rainer Wolfcastle's stunt show, A show revue starring Patty and Selma, The Tooth Chipper Roller coaster, an inept fortune teller stall, Krusty's ballon Parade, Pandaland Playland, A lost and found run by Groundkeeper Willy, many circus games, and a red ferris wheel among many others.

Additional Information

The ride will be located at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood in the former Back to the Future: The Ride buildings on both coasts. In preparation for the renovation, the Florida version of "Back to the Future" closed on March 30, 2007, while the Hollywood version closed on September 30, 2007. The Simpsons creators James L. Brooks and Matt Groening collaborated with the Universal Studios creative team to help develop the ride to make it as realistic as possible and to bring it to life for Universal goers around to enjoy!

In October of 2007, gift shops modeled after the Kwik-E-Mart were built, replacing the Back To The Future: The Store gift shop at Universal Studios Florida and the Time Depot gift shop at Universal Studios Hollywood. The stores sell Simpsons-related merchandise that will please each and every fan of the popular show The Simpsons.

Music for the ride will be composed by Jim Dooley, who worked with composer Hans Zimmer on the feature film The Simpsons Movie.
