Islands of Adventure Tickets | | | Take an unforgettable journey through five remarkable islands where all your favorite myths, legends, comic books, cartoons and children’s stories come to life. At Universal’s Islands of Adventure® you’ll experience innovative rides and attractions that challenge all your senses, including The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man®, The Incredible Hulk Coaster®, the Jurassic Park River Adventure® and The Cat in the Hat™. Universal's Islands of Adventure (occasionally abbreviated IOA) is a theme park located in Orlando, Florida. It opened in May 1999 as part of an expansion that, along with CityWalk and the Portofino Bay and Hard Rock hotels, converted Universal Studios Florida into the Universal Orlando Resort. The park's overall theme is that of a journey of exploration, where guests depart from a main port on an "inland sea" to visit five "islands," each having its own distinct theme, but all emphasizing fun and adventure. Islands of Adventure Tickets | | Islands of Adventure consists of five "islands" plus the Port of Entry, arranged around a "lagoon." The islands are presented in clockwise order, starting at the park entrance (as if you were standing with your back to the main entrance). Various live characters interact with guests throughout the day, including: Spider-Man, Captain America, Storm, Wolverine, Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat, Merlin the Magician, Sindbad, Princess Amoura, Popeye, Bluto, Olive Oyl and plenty more. | | | | Islands of Adventure mixes the 'edge' that made Universal famous with the 'theming' that made Disney famous. In fact, some of Disney's imagineers were hired by Universal to help develop this park - not to mention that Steven Speilberg himself also served as creative consultant. Islands of Adventure is divided into 5 distinct areas, each offering some of the best attractions in Orlando. | Marvel Super Hero Island | | Toon Lagoon - Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls
