WHAT'S NEW IN ORLANDO FLORIDA
Walt Disney World is
shutting down the six
nightclubs at Pleasure Island to make its party district at
Downtown Disney more family friendly.
BET SoundStage Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, 8Trax and three other
clubs that have for years catered largely to young, single adults --
rather than to Disney's bread-and-butter family market -- will close
after Sept. 27.

Aquatica
SeaWorld unveiled its Aquatica water park
after nearly seven years of planning. The new attraction blends together
animal experiences with water-themed rides and sandy beaches.
The nearly 60 acre park, located east of International Drive, also
features winding rivers, hidden grottos and waterfalls.
Universal launches
Simpsons Ride
Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson – stars of TV's longest
running series – will ride along with guests in a new mega-attraction
opening at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood in
Spring 2008.
Guests will be rocketed along with the Simpson family on a hysterical,
almost unimaginable adventure. They'll experience a side of Springfield
previously unexplored as they enjoy the new ride's interpretation of the
thrill rides, dark rides and "live" shows that make up a new fantasy
amusement park dreamed up by the show's cantankerous Krusty the Clown.
Shamu's Happy Harbor is an unbelievably fun, just-for-kids
paradise filled with giant pink flamingos and palm trees. Little ones
can conquer four stories of nets, shoot through tunnels and slip down
nine slippery slides! Now with six child sized rides, Shamu’s Happy
Harbor promises hours of exploration!
