Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney in the Disney World Resort is a six-acre
enclave of sophisticated evening entertainment. It is located in the center of
Downtown Disney between the shops at the Marketplace and the nightclubs and
performance halls at Disney's West Side. By day, you can shop at the islands
trendy stores, have lunch at one of several good restaurants, or catch a matinee
at the 24-screen movie complex. At night, however, Pleasure Island is transformed. Limousines line up at the entrances, the streets
fill with party-goers, and the nightclubs open their doors. At midnight, there's
a splashy New Years Eve celebration and fireworks show, and the partying
continues into the wee-hours. Every night on Pleasure Island is a street party,
often with special entertainment events, visiting performers, or seasonal
celebrations.
Disney Quest is located in Downtown Disney on the West Side, just across from
the Cirque du Soleil.
The building is a large, 5-story 100,000 square foot structure (making it twice
the size of the World of Disney Store). Your adventure beings in, of all places,
an elevator. At first glance the elevator seems like any other...until the door
closes, that is. The lights flicker and the right-hand wall of the elevator reveals the
Genie from Aladdin in a very cool, but bizarre, 3-D introduction to Disney Quest.
